May 13, Ms. Ali Cat rated it liked it Shelves: , genre-angels-demons , theme-soulmates-fated-couples. I was a bit disappointed by this end to these stories. I understand now why it took Fletcher so long to release it because she bit off a real lot by making the choice to include so many different POVs.
I liked the idea of being able to see what Breandan's view was but I felt like she should have just kept it to that. All the crap about Lachlann's feelings about Daphne and the should he, could he, would he was a bit redundant.

And it seemed a whole lot like she moved backwards in that since they I was a bit disappointed by this end to these stories. And it seemed a whole lot like she moved backwards in that since they had been calling her the High Lady at the end of Enchant. I don't know how all of the ways Rae was trying to UNITE the humans and different factions of demons was really handled by Fletcher when she just ended the lives of those in this world changing sort of relationships.
It seemed a lot like she figured that it wouldn't work and decided that she just would destroy all parties in the end. I also felt that there were too many open stories at the end. She, Breandan, Lachlann and Daphne are all Godlings What about Ana? Do she and Cael ever truly heal from the rift of his actions to hurt her? And who becomes High Lord? Is it Conall? All of these questions are raised at the end and never addressed. All you know is that Breandan and Rae are Godling horndogs and he plans to spend eternity getting busy.
I wanted to be blown away by this end to the Rae Wilder books because the end of Enchant was so strong. Not to mention how long I waited for it. I think maybe she should have left at the end of the last book with Breandan promising to go after Rae and bring her back and everyone alive and more or less the balance being restored. I really feel like she forced the events in this book and it didn't feel as if it were a natural flow to it and the end kind of sucks.
It sounds like with the losses at the end of book 3 and book 4, there are barely anyone around to enjoy the balance that had been brought by all of the conflict in this book. With all the other series she is working on at the same time as she worked on this perhaps she is just scattered and the quality of her story telling suffered for it. Aug 24, Clare dooley added it.
I am impatiently awaiting this book coming out. It seems like every series I get into is incomplete and leaves off on a cliff - hanger! Jan 15, Sparky rated it it was ok.
Less than impressed with how this book ended. It was good all the way through then the last few chapters just went bonkers!! Everything happened so fast I couldn't get my head around it! I was so angry that quiet a few of the main characters died. I really regret buying this series just based on how the series ended. View 2 comments. Dec 18, Jamie added it.
I can't even Apr 28, Natalie rated it it was ok. I was very dissapointed in this book. I throughly enjoyed the previous books but this was unpleasent. In short, the writing was choppy and it was not in the previous books. Often when a segment was retold from another point of view key features would change in weird ways ex. Post ressurection, the opening was extreamly slow.

I can't really explain more without sploilers, but there had to be a better way to start the story. It I was very dissapointed in this book. It was like everything went suddenly stagnent after a flurry of activity. Not to mention it was hard to follow. Also, Rae and Brendean's relationship takes a decidedly unhealthy and manipulative turn. I realize this was taking a "fated love angle," but I felt that Brendean's behavior was inexusable and manipulative. His lack of trust in his "true love" was staggaring. Lastly, not only did the ending feel like a cop out on the part of the main characters.
But it didn't resolve ANY of the issues raised in previous books with the exception of cael, but that was a weak and forced solution. We don't know if peace will be found between the factions or if really anything at all changed.

Honestly, if you like the series you might want to give this one a pass. Ending at the last book would have been much better than this. Although I, too, was hoping for more closure on the story you don't really find it here. Feb 25, Blackpegasus rated it liked it Shelves: kick-ass-paranormal. I just finished this book earlier today, and I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. I really enjoyed the other books in this series and became enamored with these characters especially Rae and Breanden.
I found this last book to be rushed, poorly crafted and completely dispassionate. The shuffling of point if views was unnecessary and disrupted the flow of story.

The biggest disappoint was the conclusion. Killing off many major characters and leaving other characters without closure was j I just finished this book earlier today, and I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. Killing off many major characters and leaving other characters without closure was just plain stupid, because there's no way I'm reading another book in this series!
Been waiting 3 months now, very excited!

A lot of skimming contributed to the finishing of this book. I lost interest pretty much the moment after they brought Rae back and so did the author! So disappointing! Mar 21, Julie rated it liked it. This is the 4th and last book in the Rae Wilder series. I bought the first three books at the same time and read them pretty quickly. I didn't realize there would be a 4th book, otherwise I would have waited and read them all together.
I really hate reading most of a series and having to wait a year or longer for the end. And for this series, the third book ends with a huge cliff hanger. My problem with waiting for the last book is not that I'm disconnected from the story once it finally comes ou This is the 4th and last book in the Rae Wilder series.
